The pilot AMV Marc Coma finished third in the First Stage
DAKAR 2010 - Day 2Contacto Press: Guillem Novellas. 625336852 prensa@amv.es02.01.2010 The pilot of the motorcycle insurance AMV Marc Coma, on his KTM official has completed the first timed stage of the Dakar Rally Argentina-Chile in third place, closely followed by fellow Jordi Viladoms team. The stage, fast, technical and very similar to the World Rally Championship, required a great deal of concentration and flow, tasks that AMV team drivers have been able to manage perfectly. Due to heavy rains hit the area yesterday, the organization has been forced to cut at 50 km, the initial design of the track as there were areas, which completely covered the frames of the members of the test pilots. Marc Coma, who crossed CP1 and CP2 in the first place, has run a very lively pace throughout the entire stage, despite the difficulty of it. His team mate Jordi Viladoms, faithful shadow of the current holder of the crown, has done a magnificent job consistency and full of great riding. The current champion of the world's toughest test Marc Coma, with a time of 1 hour and 54 seconds 50minutos has come third in the warm city of Cordoba.
For its part, the French rider David Casteu won with a time of 1 hour 50 minutes and 42 seconds, the first stage of 168 kilometers from Dakar Rally Argentina-Chile, which connects the Argentine cities of Colon and Cordoba. Its also fellow Frenchman, Despres Cyryl with a 1h.50 time: 45 seconds, placed second in which was the first timed stage of the new edition of the legendary rally.MaƱana, pilots must complete a total of 626 km divided by two bonds that hold a special stage of 294 km
Jordi Arcarons, Team Manager: "One of the most important unknowns feared most was the weather conditions that we would meet and, indeed, the weather has forced to cut a part of today's stage. These are lands with a highly variable climate and we must always bear in mind. As for the drivers today have done a great job. Marc has come out with very good pace and has maintained very intelligently throughout the day. It was first in the CP1 and CP2. Exit third morning is ideal, since it is a step a little complicated due to the large influx of people. Jordi Viladoms has done a great job. Has managed a pace perfectly happy with a methodical rapport with your Road Book. Again, he has shown his great power of concentration. Henk Kniuman, however, had a problem with the front brake, a fact that has affected him directly in his riding. It is difficult to deal with a technical step forward unchecked. I hope that tomorrow can prove his worth as a great driver he is. Tomorrow we expect a technical stage yet?.
Marc Coma, AMV Pilot (3rd Place, Time: 1'50: 45) "I felt very comfortable with the bike. It's been a very technical stage that required heavy doses of driving despite being quite short. A type of stage where you stay focused at all times because a single mistake can cost you dearly. I have maintained a good pace from the start and, with Jordi Viladoms, we have managed to maintain. Jordi has been very consistent, has done an excellent job. We must continue thus consistent because tomorrow's stage will be a little more complicated than it is today. Anyway, has helped us to put everything in place..?
Jordi Viladoms AMV Pilot (4 ° Classified, Time: 1'52: 27) "We came out fresh and eager. Marc imposed a fairly strong pace in the beginning, which we have tried to keep it throughout the day. I felt very comfortable with the bike and I think we can be happy about how we have left things. It is very important to start with the appropriate concentration level. In this aspect, I think we have done a great job. Tomorrow we expect another stage, more technical, so the secret of our success will be primarily on the concentration, despite being a stage that requires large doses of driving?.
