How do I generate traffic to my blog

There are many ways to generate traffic to your blog and what I'm going to do today gives you a list of methods I've found work the best -. I tried many different ways and some of them give results in the short term, while others have since long. Long-term results - I think it's good to have some 'of both in order to obtain the maximum amount of traffic to your blog - so I split my sub-generation traffic into two categories:. short and long term, the results of traffic generation.

Traffic generation in the short term:

Yahoo Answers - If you are interested in traffic quickly and easily this is a good one to try -. What you need to do is to post the answers or questions with links to your website and write in a way that interests readers to come visit your Web site -. You will get results immediately, but usually do not visit again after the matter went.

Facebook - I would say that the link you put in your profile are short term -. The reason is is because all your friends will check the new link to your blog / website the first time that post because of the news feed, but then after it dies down and usually do not get traffic newer.

Forums - Posting on forums can be a good way to get short-term traffic to your blog -. As long as you are posting useful information on the forum and have a good signature with links to your website you usually get some decent traffic back to your blog -. usually much more traffic then some of the ideas above, but then again it is still only traffic in the short term -. However one of the other advantages of this type of traffic is LinkBacks to your website that can help improve your PageRank.

Comments on the blog - this is quite similar to the posts on the forum -. Basically you can get a bit 'of traffic to your blog / website, but you're better off doing this to increase your LinkBacks which in turn will hopefully increase your PageRank.

The sites for link exchange - Link exchange sites like linkreferral generate traffic to your blog until you're using, but once you stop traffic so -. Most of the traffic generated by this method, however, has no traffic very well because people are only interested in getting more traffic to their website -. Since everyone has the same idea in mind no one tightly fixed around a site to see what it is.

Twitter - As I can see so far this is a short-term way to generate traffic to your blog -. Can be obtained after a large follower base you can get traffic from this long-term, but in the meantime you get hits every once and a while 'from this.

EntreCard - This is like linkrefferal as it is basically a program to exchange link type -. You can advertise on other peoples blogs and they can advertise on your blog -. It generates traffic, but most of it is just traffic where people are interested in getting credit so they can make more traffic -. It is worthwhile to try a shot, but it might not be the best solution in the long run.

Social Networking - This is a fantastic way to get a ton of traffic to your blog -. If you can not reach the front page of some websites network, you can display up to 50K unique visitors a day - This traffic is impressive, but it will not last forever and it is not easy to get to the front page -. I definitely recommend doing this step, but do not expect to see traffic for months and months after you post something on the site.

PPC Advertising - This is not something that I tried on this site, but it is something that I did with my full time job -. PPC stands for Pay Per Click Advertising and what it is when you pay for each click you get for your advertising vai to your website -. An example of this is Google Adwords where you see ads on the right side of search results -. If you click on them to pay the advertiser for each click on their ad -. This is a very good way to get fast traffic to your website, but it will cost and you only get when you pay for it.

Generation of long-term traffic (The Good Stuff!)

Search Engine Traffic - This traffic is really good -. If you can do some 'SEO for your blog / website and get a bunch of pages highly ranked in search engines for keywords then you will get a lot of traffic to your website without a lot of work -. This will always be the constant traffic until you get banned from search engines -. So, just be careful not to use black hat SEO techniques and you should be fine.

Article Directories - This is another way to get long term traffic to your blog -. Once you have submitted enough quality articles to article directories to get more traffic to their blog and it is good traffic because people are interested in what you have to say -. So, if possible, try to add more articles to article directories.

Link Exchange - As long as the sites you are exchanging links with is not going under you can usually always get traffic from links you have exchanged with other websites -. There are rumors that Google does not like this type of traffic generation, but I think that if you do a little 'it can not harm your web site can and will bring a little' in traffic.

LINK websites bait - There could be another term for this, but this is what I want to call it -. Basically this is what it is websites that are linked to your website, because they have found interesting and wanted to link to it -. If you can write blog entries that are very attractive to users are more likely to link and refer to it in their website -. This is great because it is free traffic and you do not really need to work for it.

Banner Exchange - This is similar to link exchanges as a banner exchange with another website and there is a link on the banner -. It 's good for the long-term traffic, until both sites remain active and you can always send traffic to each others websites.

So that it is

For now this is the list of things I've tried so far to generate traffic to my blog -. As mentioned in a lot of points some of the traffic generated to the site is much better than other traffic, but all of them worth a shot -. I would like to try some of them yourself and see what works best for you -. And remember the time you write quality content, a lot of content, and do some SEO on your website you should get decent traffic from search engines .......
