Jewels of Old Europe: Prague in a Week
There are very few cities in the old Europe that could be worth as much as visiting Prague. Make it clear that there are cities such as Paris, Rome, London are impressive and glittering cities themselves, but none of them has the charm of the capital of the Czech Republic.
Fundamental advice: see Prague by day is a delight to behold, but it is at night when it reaches its peak. The city lights are strategically placed to make the most of the major architectural highlight further. There are places that get you re gone back in time and is easy to make sense of what life in this city in the Middle Ages.
Perhaps one of the major difficulties when making a visit to the Czech capital is distributed daily to see the city as much as possible, so here I will summarize what you have to do at least for a posteriori to say that you've been to Prague.
Begin the visit by the always spectacular Plaza Vieja, where you will find two of the greatest architectural treasures of the city: the Church of Our Lady of Tyn, famous for its twin towers (you can think or not to visit at night, it's awesome) and the Astronomical Clock, the real work of the time and unique in the world for its design. If you are going to visit Prague at Christmas, remember that this is where you will find one of the largest and most famous Christmas markets, along with an impressive tree that is breathtaking to all who visit.
Continue drawing nearer to the Castle area, where inside you can visit the always spectacular St Vitus Cathedral and Golden Alley, where he lived and worked the ancient goldsmiths. Here is a curious legend about one of them who managed to turn base metals into gold. It is in this alley where you can visit the house where he lived Franz Kafka. Just before the castle, you will meet with the Church of Loreto, which is also worth a look.
From here, stroll to the Jewish Quarter, where you can visit the Old Jewish Cemetery, unfortunately famous thanks to the Nazi Holocaust as well as several of their synagogues. Very near here will pass through the Powder Tower and Charles Bridge, where you will find dozens of artists offering a wide range of paintings and photographs of the city. Take a look, it's worth.
In terms of activities you could perform, do not forget to go through Wenceslas Square if you want to go away for shopping or evening drinks. Take a walk along the Vltava River on a Cruise, is another way of seeing the city and do not forget to visit the famous Black Theatre of Prague, where you can enjoy a completely different play than usual. Remember that near Prague, and leaving as its center, there are plenty of small towns and castles to visit, but we'll leave that for another article.
Now I is the most difficult, it is to find a cheap hotel in Prague and this is not easy. The more you turn away from downtown, the hotels are cheaper, and you may be worthwhile to drive you a bit as communications with the center of the city are pretty good, either by subway, bus or tram. The subway ends at 00:00, but you always have the option of night buses in order to enjoy the night in Prague.
After reading this, I have been wanting to know more about this lovely city, so here I leave a page where you can see a lot more about this:
